Project 4: What if?

Pick a simple standalone chart, add a piece of data, a filter, an anecdot, or some context to make it into a cohesive story. Use a tool you are already familiar with, anything from hand drawn to illustrator to code! Be ready to share story next week! *Start with a subject you are interested in personally — It is not required but it can be something that you will potentially expand into a larger final project.

Project 3: Data out of a hat

Pick a government agency out of a hat. Research that agency’s function and data output. Answer these questions in 1 sentence each. What does the agency do? What data does the agency collect? What data does the agency publish? How useful is the agency’s public data offering? What guidance does the agency offer in requesting unpublished data? AND Pick 1 dataset that the agency has published, and imagine an alternative use for it. Write a few sentences on the possible story and visualizations that can be made using this dataset.
